Abstract

Steel reservoir-type constructions are now some of the most widespread types of thin-walled structures. One of the biggest problems with them now is the increased level of corrosion wear during the operation. All the used methods, as practice shows, are not fully efficient. The author suggests another way: it is optimization of the structural shape on the basis of minimization of wall mass criteria. According to the author’s data, it allows reducing the side surface area of the reservoirs by 30
