Abstract

The paper has examined outcomes of service tests of experimental freight car bogies 18-781. The service tests 9 of gondola cars, set on the experimental bogies in regularly routed trains, have shown that after improvements of the design reliability of the bogies in operation becomes not worse than that of serial bogies of 18-100 series. Failures of new parts of the bogie have been shown separately and their prospects have been assessed.
