The paper is devoted to the analysis of influence of bending rigidity on dynamical properties of cables. A mathematical model of free oscillations of the cable without account of the damping is developed. An investigation of influence of bending rigidity on free oscillations of the system has been carried out. It has been noted that consideration of bending rigidity leads to an increase in frequency of free oscillations of the cable.
